Elemis is a British skincare line founded in 1989 that promises to deliver clinically-proven results. I put a bunch of their products to the test and here are my thoughts.

The Story

I first saw Elemis products on a cruise ship, but didn’t give the brand much thought since I had never encountered it anywhere else. Then, I kept seeing it over and over on every cruise ship-turns out that they have a partnership with OneSpa World, which means they are found onboard over 100 cruise ships.

When my favorite influencers Andreea Ali and Mary Orton kept raving about how great the Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing balm is, I decided to try it!

The Products

I love all but one product that I’ve tried from Elemis. If you sign up for their newsletter, you will get offers almost daily, and I love to take advantage of the ones that include at least five travel sized products with minimum purchase. That’s how I was able to try so many of their products.

Among my favorites that I’d buy again and again are:

Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm

Friends, the hype is well-deserved! This product is amazing!

If you’ve never tried a cleansing balm before, the consistency might seem a bit strange. It’s a yellow color and looks like an ointment, similar to Vaseline, but as soon as you put it on your face it melts and turns clear. I like to apply it and keep it on for a few minutes as a mask. Then I wet my fingers and massage the face before I use the wet cleansing cloth it comes with to wipe it off.

This balm isn’t just great for daily cleansing, but it is also the best makeup remover. I first use micellar water or regular makeup remover, and then apply the balm to make sure I get my face completely clean.

This is a product I recommend without any hesitation. It’s one of my all-time favorites and definitely worth the splurge.

Elemis Dynamic Resurfacing Pads

These exfoliating pads keep selling out, for good reason! They leave your skin feeling amazingly soft. While I don’t necessarily like the fact that it’s a disposable product, I can’t deny that it does work and I love it.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Overnight Matrix

This is my favorite night cream right now, and I’m on my second tub of it. I like to especially make sure I apply it around the eye area and where I have deep smile lines (crow’s feet). Although I can’t honestly claim that it has eliminated or even reduced my crow’s feet, I do like the way it feels and smells and my skin feels perfectly balanced after using this cream.

Elemis Soothing Apricot Toner

I’m not crazy for toners in general because they don’t seem to me to have a noticeable effect. However, I love the way my skin feels after using this one, indeed it feels soothed and calmed. I’ve found that this works really well before Vitamin C and Retinol applications, it’s almost like it makes those products work better.

One bottle lasts a long time, almost 6 months now, but I’m definitely planning to purchase again once I run out.

Elemis Peptide 4

I like the Peptide 4 products, but I feel that I don’t really understand how to use them and wish the website did a better job of describing that. For example, the Overnight Radiance Peel says to apply and night and wash off in the morning, but should I put moisturizer on before or after or use any at all with this?

The One I Didn’t Like

There is one product that I’ve tried so far from Elemis that I absolutely would not buy again-the ULTRA SMART Pro-Collagen Aqua Infusion Mask. Sorry! While my face does feel baby soft after using it, the smell, which isn’t strong to begin with, builds up, and after the 20 minute suggested time, makes my stomach turn. Besides from the softness, I can’t say that I noticed any difference after using this mask.

The Verdict

I have loved almost all the products I’ve tried from Elemis and I especially recommend the Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm and the Dynamic Resurfacing Pads. They are a splurge, but if there’s one area that’s worth it, it’s your face!
