You’ll Want to Visit the Sarah Flint Popup in Georgetown

Originally scheduled to open in March 2020 (but of course Covid had other plans), the Sarah Flint popup in Georgetown has at last opened its doors at 1079 Wisconsin Ave. NW. As a brand ambassador, I was fortunate to attend an opening celebration where I got to meet Sarah herself in person!

DMV area friends, put this delightful store on your list to visit before it goes away in late December 2021! The best part? My discount code for $50 off, SARAHFLINT-BAMIRUNA, also works in the store, just make sure to mention it at checkout (and tell your friends, too!). You can try on different styles in-store to find your perfect size and then order online* or pick up directly from the store.

Sarah Flint Popup Ambiance

Walking into to the popup, you are transported to the world of Sarah Flint. The store is bright, with inviting lighting and a style that is glam meets grand-millennial. Charming, elegant, and cozy, you’ll want to stay there all day! Not only can you try on almost all of the shoe styles, but you can also indulge in Soane teas and chocolate chip cookies from Underground Goods, which are baked according to Sarah Flint’s family recipe. Make sure not to miss going upstairs, where you’ll not only find more styles to try, but also hair accessories and table linens-the newest additions to the brand. Silk scarves and scarves with masks can also be found in the store.

Styles to Try On at the Sarah Flint Popup

While the company has a generous exchange and return policy if you don’t get your right size the first time, nothing beats trying on a shoe before purchasing. As you walk in on the right, there is a convenient try-on wall where you can just pick your size for the Natalie and the Sacchetto Ballet Flat.

If you have a chance to visit the store and only want to try on a few core styles, these are my not-to-be-missed recommendations:

A Pump

You already know that I’m a super fan of the Perfect Pump, and that is absolutely a must so you can experience the anatomical arch support, extra padding, and wider toe box.

Stiletto heel is not your style? Go for the Perfect Jay* or the Perfect Emma* (the Merlot Suede color made me do a double-take), which have the same comfort features. And if a pointy toe isn’t your preference, then check out one of the newest additions, the Perfect Round Toe Pump*.

A Flat

The Natalie is the quintessential flat that was launched in 2014 and just celebrated its birthday the week of September 12. It’s a timeless classic and the chic style is easy to dress up or dress down. This shoe is so beloved that it has sold out in 24 hours three separate times!

Admittedly, I wasn’t sure whether the Natalie would work for my wide foot. This was the first style I was eager to try on…and of course I fell in love. When will I learn that you just can’t go wrong with Sarah Flint? It’s every bit as good as the over 500 five-star reviews rave.

Prefer a rounder toe? Try the Sacchetto Ballet Flat*. For this style, I did have to go down half a size.

A Boot or Bootie

Whether you prefer the Perfect Zip Bootie*, the elegant Perfect Dress Bootie*, the more rugged Ellie x Gravati*, or the newest Perfect Stretch Boot*, there is a boot and bootie style for every person, every outfit, and every occasion! I’m still torn on which one of these to choose.

A Sandal

Summer may be ending, but a strappy sandal will never go out of style. Try on the Perfect Sandal or the Perfect Block Sandal. The Perfect Sandal is a another style that I wasn’t sure would suit me because of my wider foot, but I had received it earlier in the summer and wore it to the pop up party and I didn’t even notice I had shoes on-the padding made it feel like walking on clouds!

Prefer more casual styles? Head upstairs to try on the gladiator-style Grear and the slip-on Mirjana.

Other Impressions of the Sarah Flint Popup

As beautiful as all of the imagery is on their website and social media, I was surprised to discover that the beauty and refinement of some colorways and even some styles just cannot be captured on camera. Especially stunning are the Perfect Pump and Natalie in the Gunmetal Lame Fabric. No picture or video I’ve seen does this fabric justice; you just have to see it in-person! This finish sparkles with silver and gold and brings your eye directly to the shoe. Think “Cinderella” if the shoe wasn’t glass.

In my opinion, the Natalie also looks different in person than in pictures; the toe is not as long as it appears. Also the suppleness of the triple-dyed suedes are best appreciated live.

Another treat to see in-person is the special edition Starry Natalie, which is inspired by Vincent van Gogh. Made out of beaded satin, this made-to-order beauty is a work of art itself.

Not in the D.C. Area?

Don’t worry if you’re not near the Georgetown store-new pop ups are planned in multiple cities. Soon one will be returning to New York, opening sometime in October. Even though the pop up experience was so special and fun, remember that you can always order online and easily make an exchange or return. Just make sure to try on the shoe on carpet, don’t wear it outside, and don’t keep it on for too long before making a final decision to keep or return.

I’d love to help you find and fall in love with your first pair. Feel free to ask me any questions in the comments!
