Designer Quality and Style at Everyday Prices?

Have you heard of the online store, Italic*? You may have seen ads for it on Facebook or Instagram. The store’s philosophy is to provide designer quality products at reasonable prices. They use the same factories as well-known high-end brands, such as Burberry, MaxMara, Prada, Chanel, and others. Since I have a penchant for high quality and well-made items, I thought I’d give Italic a try. Here are my thoughts.

First Purchase

My first purchase was a 100% Mongolian cashmere scarf, made in the same factories as Burberry, MaxMara, and Prada have used. It has almost all 5-star reviews, and at $65, a very attractive price. There are six colors available (the red is absolutely gorgeous for Christmas), and I chose the cream.

The Verdict: Designer Quality

The package arrived after about a week in a padded envelope and a protective plastic bag. Nothing extravagant, but that’s ok with me. The scarf is wider and bigger than I expected, which isn’t a bad thing, because you can always fold it to make it smaller. It feels incredibly soft and luxurious, and the color is perfect and will go with anything and everything!

The Good

In my opinion, the $65 Italic scarf is very comparable to a $300+ Burberry scarf that I have from many years ago. Therefore my verdict is that it’s a great value for the money. The fact that the price is more reasonable actually makes me wear it more often, without the worry of staining or damaging it. While I love wearing my Burberry scarf, there’s always that worry in the back on my mind, and that takes a bit away from owning such high-end and high-priced items.

The Not So Good

My only disappointment is that it is made in China. This was a bit of an (unpleasant) surprise because my Burberry scarf is made in England, so I was expecting the same, or perhaps Italy. However, the quality is superb.

Based on my first experience with Italic, I would definitely order other items and do recommend it. Overall, I really love the scarf and want to wear it all the time!

What’s Next on My List?

I like the scarf so much, that I might get it in more colors! Also on my list are the cashmere gloves that with tech tip fingers (an absolute must these days), and the cashmere beret…I might be in a cashmere phase-it’s that time of year!

Have you tried Italic? If so, what are your thoughts and experiences?
